Dr. Jaydeep Tank

Dear Esteemed FOGSIANS,

In India, maternal and neonatal health remains a paramount concern.

The aim of an HRP center is to have these serve as invaluable hubs of knowledge and expertise, offering access to advanced diagnostic technologies, evidence-based treatments, and multidisciplinary care teams capable of delivering the highest standards of care. Through a combination of medical interventions, personalized treatment plans, and continuous monitoring, these centers can strive to optimize pregnancy outcomes and ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and child. They can also work to prevent escalation of complications.

The idea of having FOGSI’s special accreditation for high-risk pregnancy centers was the initiative of Team FOGSI 2020-21. It is a laudable effort towards quality maternal care. The A+++ accreditation will serve to standardize the provisions and functions of HRP centers, and help to provide uniformity in our approach to high risk pregnancies nationwide.

By prioritizing early identification, specialized management, and comprehensive support for expectant mothers facing high-risk pregnancies, we can mitigate risks, reduce maternal mortality, and promote the health and well-being of mothers and babies across the nation.

I am thankful to all the contributors and especially to the experts who have graciously provided their time and effort in formulating these checklists, algorithms and set-up guidelines. I request every one of you to apply for the A+++ accreditation through the FOGSI website, and join in this movement.
